Fero Lipták – Over Spilled Milk

Nedbalka Gallery presents a collection of paintings in which the artist points out, with a kind humour and gentle satire, various social and individual problems. He is fascinated by the world seen from a child´s perspective, which he often tries to transfer onto the canvas. In his own way, he tries to establish a dialogue with the recipients and stir up conversation. Characterised by distinctive colours, the exhibited works radiate a spontaneous joy of the act of art production. Lipták´s paintings and prints have been presented in many exhibitions in Slovakia and abroad.

Born in 1962 in Poprad, Lipták studied graphic art at the Secondary School of Applied Arts in Košice and stage design at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, in the studio of Ladislav Vychodil.  continued his studies at the Academy of Performing Arts in Bratislava, where he attended the department of stage design in the studio of Ladislav Vychodil. As a stage designer he worked in many Slovak, Czech and Polish theatres. Since 1991, he has also devoted himself to set design in films. Lipták collaborated with prominent directors, such as Martin Šulík and Agnieszka Holland. He received two Czech Lion awards granted by the Czech Film Academy for achievements in films. He is a co-founder of the independent theatre company Teatro Tatro.
