Imrich Weiner-Kráľ - The First Kiss
Imrich Weiner-Kráľ was an artist whose work kept evolving, especially in terms of form. Through his work, Weiner-Kráľ showed his interest in everyday reality, and the painting entitled The First Kiss is no exception. It is an optimistic and intimate painting depicting a unique moment in the lives of two young people. In the foreground there are two figures embracing. The author conveys their joy of the moment through their eyes. He finds the characters themselves and their feelings to be of utmost importance, which is also evident from the way they are portrayed. The details of the characters are elaborate and, in juxtaposition, the background is depicted schematically, thus clearly expressing what the object of the author’s interest is.
